What took you so long to get here?

Where have you been all my life?

I’ll tell you where I’ve been.

I’ve been in show business!

Ever since I was a little kid and heard Pinocchio singing, “Hey, diddly-dee, an actor’s life for me,” that’s what I wanted. Well, not to be an actor.

I got tired of that during my freshman year in college.

So, what to do, what to do. . .

After many years as a Hollywood press agent, I became a writer…movies, stage plays, books.

Anything that was a challenge. I love telling stories.

After all, with due respect to actors, directors and other artists, isn’t the only truly creative aspect of the performing arts the written word?

Everything else is “interpretation”.

On this site you will find links to my many stage plays that are available for licensing, listings of my books that are available for purchasing, some of my screenplays that are available for optioning, plus my blog that will keep you apprised of my various on-going activities and we can get to know each other, maybe too well.

Interesting News

Some interesting news to report today:

1. Contracts are now being signed for Bear Manor Media to reprint my book, BASIL RATHBONE: His Life and His Films, which has been OOP for over 35 years.

I'm writing a new Introduction for the reprint, but otherwise, the new edition will be a mirror of the original. Not sure on the actual publication date yet, but hopefully it will be before (or shortly after) the first of the year.

2. My one-person play, (Al) JOLSON, is now available from Amazon in both paperback and Kindle editions. Here's the link for the paperback. If it doesn't work, just copy the following address into your browser and you'll be taken right there.

3. I've just posted reviews for both the LOST EMPIRES mini-series and THE FOUR FEATHERS (1939) on the Best Bets on DVD site, accessible via the link in the Introduction section of this page. LOST EMPIRES is an excellent British series, which features Colin Firth and Laurence Olivier, and THE FOUR FEATHERS is the classic adventure tale, directed by Zoltan Korda. So, please take a look.

There is more news brewing, but I won't tell you about it until it is more firm.
