Michael's Musings
Packing Day
by Michael B. Druxman on 10/10/10
October 11, 2010
Since I'm flying out tomorrow morning to Los Angeles and my book signing on next Sunday (17), today will be a busy one.
First thing, the animals will be taken up to the kennel, then it's final errands to run and, lastly, home to do the packing.
Just so my Los Angeles readers remember, the book signing for MY FORTY-FIVE YEARS IN HOLLYWOOD AND HOW I ESCAPED ALIVE will be on Sunday, October 17th, at 2 pm, at:
Mystery and Imagination Bookshop
238 N. Brand Blvd
Glendale, CA 91203-2610
(818) 859-1729
Even if you already have the book...don't want the book (can't imagine why)...or whatever, please drop by and say "Hello".
It will be fun to catch up, and I'll tell y'all about Texas.
You have a creative day.

Working Screenwriter
by Michael B. Druxman on 10/07/10
October 8, 2010
I am, once again, a working screenwriter.
Yesterday, I signed a contract and received a nice check to write a screenplay for a gentleman from California. He has this idea for a script and has hired me to write it for him.
I can't go into details about the plot, except to say that it will be an action/thriller with a definite point to make. Indeed, it deals with a topical subject that the public should be very concerned about.
Since I've been primarily writing books the past 2-3 years or so, I'm really looking forward to getting back to telling a story in the screenplay format.
This will be a busy weekend, getting ready for my trip to Los Angeles on Tuesday (12) and my book signing on the 17th. Already, my publicist has me set to do a couple of radio interviews and a cable TV interview while I'm there.
I was visiting a film noir website yesterday and came across this photo of myself.
It's from the documentary featurette on the Special Edition DVD/Blu-Ray of THE MALTESE FALCON, which I was interviewed for about 4-5 years ago.
It's amazing what you come across when you're surfing the Web.
Have a creative weekend, and I'll be back with you on Monday.
