What took you so long to get here?

Where have you been all my life?

I’ll tell you where I’ve been.

I’ve been in show business!

Ever since I was a little kid and heard Pinocchio singing, “Hey, diddly-dee, an actor’s life for me,” that’s what I wanted. Well, not to be an actor.

I got tired of that during my freshman year in college.

So, what to do, what to do. . .

After many years as a Hollywood press agent, I became a writer…movies, stage plays, books.

Anything that was a challenge. I love telling stories.

After all, with due respect to actors, directors and other artists, isn’t the only truly creative aspect of the performing arts the written word?

Everything else is “interpretation”.

On this site you will find links to my many stage plays that are available for licensing, listings of my books that are available for purchasing, some of my screenplays that are available for optioning, plus my blog that will keep you apprised of my various on-going activities and we can get to know each other, maybe too well.

Working Screenwriter

I am, once again, a working screenwriter.

Yesterday, I signed a contract and received a nice check to write a screenplay for a gentleman from California. He has this idea for a script and has hired me to write it for him.

I can't go into details about the plot, except to say that it will be an action/thriller with a definite point to make. Indeed, it deals with a topical subject that the public should be very concerned about.

Since I've been primarily writing books the past 2-3 years or so, I'm really looking forward to getting back to telling a story in the screenplay format.

This will be a busy weekend, getting ready for my trip to Los Angeles on Tuesday (12) and my book signing on the 17th. Already, my publicist has me set to do a couple of radio interviews and a cable TV interview while I'm there.

I was visiting a film noir website yesterday and came across this photo of myself.

It's from the documentary featurette on the Special Edition DVD/Blu-Ray of THE MALTESE FALCON, which I was interviewed for about 4-5 years ago.

It's amazing what you come across when you're surfing the Web.
