What took you so long to get here?
Where have you been all my life?
I’ll tell you where I’ve been.

I’ve been in show business!

Ever since I was a little kid and heard Pinocchio singing, “Hey, diddly-dee, an actor’s life for me,” that’s what I wanted. Well, not to be an actor.
I got tired of that during my freshman year in college.

So, what to do, what to do. . .

After many years as a Hollywood press agent, I became a writer…movies, stage plays, books.
Anything that was a challenge.  I love telling stories.

After all, with due respect to actors, directors and other artists, isn’t the only truly creative aspect of the performing arts the written word?
Everything else is “interpretation”.

On this site you will find links to my many stage plays that are available for licensing, listings of my books that are available for purchasing, some of my screenplays that are available for optioning, plus my blog that will keep you apprised of my various on-going activities and we can get to know each other, maybe too well.

If you’re into DVDs, take a look at my monthly newsletter, BEST BETS ON DVD.

Also, if you have a story that you want told, either in screenplay or book form, I am still a writer-for-hire.  Have Mac-Will Write.

So, please sign the guest book and share your thoughts and comments on my blog.  But, let’s play nice!

Don’t be such a stranger.  Keep coming back!

Cable Show Today

by Michael B. Druxman on 10/13/10

October 14, 2010

The computer and internet connection I'm working with here in Los Angeles is very unreliable, so this is going to be another short blog entry.

The radio interview went well yesterday, and we also enjoyed dinner with Sandy's son and his wife.

Today, I'm doing a cable TV show, then having dinner with my former story editor at Concorde, Frances Doel.

I hate this computer!

You have a creative day.

Good First Day

by Michael B. Druxman on 10/12/10

October 13, 2010

Our first day in Los Angeles yesterday went well.

I sold a couple of books during the first hour we were in town, then after we checked into the hotel, we had nice meetings with my friend, Michael Ansara and his wife, Bevery, then dinner with my son (David) and my brother, Barry.

This morning, I'm doing a radio interview from the hotel room, then we will be doing more meetings for the rest of the day.

These  blogs while I'm traveling are going to be extra short because the computer and internet connection are not that reliable.

You have a creative day.

California, Here I Come!

by Michael B. Druxman on 10/11/10

October 12, 2010

California, Here I Come.
Right Back Where I Started From....

Sorry, I don't recall the rest of the lyrics from that classic Al Jolson song.

The point is that I'm heading for the airport and I will be in Los Angeles before noon.

I've got several publicity gigs to do while I'm in town, and I'm also planning to see friends and family.

I'm not sure what kind of Internet service I'm going to have at the hotel, so my blog posts between now and the time I get home could be sketchy.  I won't know until I try.

In any event, if you're in the Los Angeles area, please come to the book signing this Sunday (17) at 2 pm.  I'll be at the Mystery and Imagination Bookshop on Brand Blvd. in Glendale.

You have a creative day.
