Holiday Disasters

Happy New Year!
I hope you have all had a wonderful holiday season.
Mine was a bit of a disaster. About ten days before Christmas, our projection TV died, so now we have a new 4K flat screen in our family/living room. Then, on New Year's Eve, our washing machine quit. The service guy came out on Friday, and the repair is not going to be cheap, but much less expensive than the cost of a new machine.
Other than that, it was a pretty quiet holiday season. I started reading actor Paul Henreid's excellent autobiography, LADIES MAN, which I am thoroughly enjoying, and on New Year's Day, I re-started our subscription to Netflix.
On this coming Friday, I will be doing a live radio interview with Mary Jane Popp, who has a show on a Sacramento station. We'll be talking about my book, MURDER IN BABYLON, which deals with Hollywood's infamous William Desmond Taylor murder. The book was published in early December and is selling well.
This week, I will probably start writing again. I've been laying off for a few weeks, but I have a book of short stories/novellas that I want to do.
There are three new reviews on the Best Bets on DVD site, accessible via the link in the Introduction section of this page. They are BLACK SAILS, Season One, BY THE GUN a pretty good Mob movie, and THE MERV GRIFFIN SHOW, a terrific 12 disc set. So take a look.
Winter has finally come to Austin. It's cold and rainy here, and it will probably be that way all week.
You have a creative one.
