What took you so long to get here?
Where have you been all my life?
I’ll tell you where I’ve been.

I’ve been in show business!

Ever since I was a little kid and heard Pinocchio singing, “Hey, diddly-dee, an actor’s life for me,” that’s what I wanted. Well, not to be an actor.
I got tired of that during my freshman year in college.

So, what to do, what to do. . .

After many years as a Hollywood press agent, I became a writer…movies, stage plays, books.
Anything that was a challenge.  I love telling stories.

After all, with due respect to actors, directors and other artists, isn’t the only truly creative aspect of the performing arts the written word?
Everything else is “interpretation”.

On this site you will find links to my many stage plays that are available for licensing, listings of my books that are available for purchasing, some of my screenplays that are available for optioning, plus my blog that will keep you apprised of my various on-going activities and we can get to know each other, maybe too well.

If you’re into DVDs, take a look at my monthly newsletter, BEST BETS ON DVD.

Also, if you have a story that you want told, either in screenplay or book form, I am still a writer-for-hire.  Have Mac-Will Write.

So, please sign the guest book and share your thoughts and comments on my blog.  But, let’s play nice!

Don’t be such a stranger.  Keep coming back!

Bandwidth is Back (Fingers Crossed)

by Michael B. Druxman on 07/05/14

July 7, 2014

My bandwidth problem seems to be corrected.  At least, it is for now.  Hopefully, the problem that took my other web pages down will not reoccur.

So, Best Bets on DVD is back on line, and I've just posted a review of BLUE RUIN, a remarkably good thriller.  You can access the site by clicking on the link in the Introduction section of this page.

Wife Sandy and I spent a quiet 4th of July.  We had a nice dinner, then we watched YANKEE DOODLE DANDY with Jimmy Cagney.  I love that movie.

I have ten pages written on my new play.  I've put it aside for the moment, so that I can figure out what I'm going to do next with it.  I know the story I want to tell.  I'm just trying to decide how I want to tell it from this point.

Now, here's a joke for you:

A juggler, driving to his next performance, is stopped by the police. "What are those machetes doing in your car?" asks the cop.

"I juggle them in my act."

"Oh, yeah?"
says the doubtful cop. "Let's see you do it.”

The juggler gets out and starts tossing and catching the knives.

Another man driving by slows down to watch.  "Wow" says the passer-by. "I'm glad I quit drinking.  Look at the test they're giving now!"

You have a creative week.

Michael
