What took you so long to get here?
Where have you been all my life?
I’ll tell you where I’ve been.

I’ve been in show business!

Ever since I was a little kid and heard Pinocchio singing, “Hey, diddly-dee, an actor’s life for me,” that’s what I wanted. Well, not to be an actor.
I got tired of that during my freshman year in college.

So, what to do, what to do. . .

After many years as a Hollywood press agent, I became a writer…movies, stage plays, books.
Anything that was a challenge.  I love telling stories.

After all, with due respect to actors, directors and other artists, isn’t the only truly creative aspect of the performing arts the written word?
Everything else is “interpretation”.

On this site you will find links to my many stage plays that are available for licensing, listings of my books that are available for purchasing, some of my screenplays that are available for optioning, plus my blog that will keep you apprised of my various on-going activities and we can get to know each other, maybe too well.

If you’re into DVDs, take a look at my monthly newsletter, BEST BETS ON DVD.

Also, if you have a story that you want told, either in screenplay or book form, I am still a writer-for-hire.  Have Mac-Will Write.

So, please sign the guest book and share your thoughts and comments on my blog.  But, let’s play nice!

Don’t be such a stranger.  Keep coming back!

New Play

by Michael B. Druxman on 05/09/15

May 11, 2015

I've started writing my new play in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS series, although this multiple character piece would definitely be part of the sub-category, The Hollywood Scandals, joining B MOVIE and SEXY REXY.  I've got about 9 pages of a first draft, which is pretty good for 3 days work, but I'm still not going to reveal the subject until its finished.

Last Sunday, Sandy and I drove out into the country to have lunch at a place called "The Oasis," which sits atop a hill overlooking Lake Austin.  Beautiful view.  We were there to attend a farewell party for a friend who is moving to the Philippines.  It was an enjoyable day, except for the fact that the atmosphere was much better than the food.

I'm still in the process of hearing auditions for the one-person play I am hoping to record soon.  I still don't have a recording studio lined up, so I guess I should lock that in before I make a final commitment.

That's it for now.  You have a creative week.

Not An Exciting Week

by Michael B. Druxman on 05/02/15

May 4, 2015

This past week was not a particularly exciting one.  I've been having problems with my ankle, so I've tried to stay off my feet as much as possible.

What I have been doing is researching my next play in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS series, which will deal with a major star and a major scandal.  It's a fascinating story and I'm still working out the best way to tell it.

Another thing I am working on is setting up a situation here in Austin whereby I can record several of my plays on audio for sale via amazon, audible.com and iTunes.  I think I've found a recording studio where they can be created cheaply, and I am currently in the process of trying to find the right actor for what would be the first recording.

I like the idea of recording these plays in Austin, primarily because that will give me more control over the finished product.

We shall see how this resolves itself.

You have a creative week.

A Week of Accidents

by Michael B. Druxman on 04/25/15

April 27, 2015

Last week was a week of accidents in the Druxman household.

Early in the week, I was dealing with a bad case of tendonitis in my left ankle.  I even went to the emergency room.   It wasn't as bad when I kept off of it and walked around the house in slippers or flip-flops.

Then, on Thursday morning, I got a call from wife Sandy, who was doing her volunteer work at the temple.  She had tripped over a rug in the kitchen; hit her face a metal counter on the fall to the floor.  Two teeth were chipped, and she was bleeding.  While another volunteer drove her to the dentist, my neighbor drove me up to the temple where I could pick up her car, then fetch her at the dentist's office.

Her mouth swollen, she looked like she'd been in a fight with Rocky Balboa.

Then, about ten o'clock that night, after she had taken her sleeping pill, she complained about being dizzy, so I took her up to the emergency room to check her out.  She's okay.

On Friday night, my shoulder was bothering me, so I went to spray some ointment on it.  Unfortunately, it was a pretty wide spray and some got into my eye.  Stung like hell.  But, after dripping cold water in it for 15-20 minutes, it was okay.

A fun week, huh?

When the Best Bets on DVD site goes back up on the first, accessible via the link in the Introduction section of this page, you'll find reviews of MR. TURNER, GOOD HELP THE GIRL and LITTLE ACCIDENTS (yet to be written) waiting for you to read.

You have a creative and safe week.
