Short Blog This Week
by Michael B. Druxman on 05/30/15

Not that these weekly blogs run the length of MOBY DICK, but this one is going to be extra short. Indeed, I'm just posting this so that you will know that I'm still alive.
I have a bad cold that has now settled into my chest, which is why the brevity.
There are 3 new reviews on the Best Bets on DVD site, accessible via the link in the Introduction section of this page. They are: WELCOME TO ME with Kristen Wiig, THE MISSOURI TRAVELER with Brandon DeWilde and Lee Marvin and THE TALL LIE, directed by and starring Paul Henreid, so please take a look.
I'm going back to bed now. You have a creative week.

More Rain and a Sore Throat
by Michael B. Druxman on 05/23/15

The rain in Austin continues, and now I have a sore throat. Isn't that fun?
I'm seeing the doctor for my annual physical on Tuesday (26), so she will (hopefully) give me something to take care of it.
Work wise, Fred Frees has finished recording the audio version of MURDER IN BABYLON. He will now start making the few corrections I've given him and, if all goes well, the audio should be available for sale in 3-4 weeks.
As I write this, I am almost done writing the first draft of the first act of my new play in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS series. This went rather quickly, but Act II is going to be a bit more complicated, so I do expect a slowdown.
I've narrowed the casting of the audio for my Basil Rathbone play down to two contenders, and am now awaiting the actors to submit a revised audition.
That's about it. I hope you all had a nice Memorial Day holiday.
You have a creative week.

Rain and More Rain
by Michael B. Druxman on 05/16/15
May 18, 2015
During the past week or so, we've had the heaviest and most consistent rain here in Austin that I've experienced during the six years that we've lived here, and according to the weather man, we can expect it to continue for the rest of this month.
That's great, since we've been in a drought for the past few years. The only problem is that it's often dangerous to drive in this stuff, so errands are getting delayed. A few days ago, I was driving in a downpour and I could hardly see six feet ahead of me.
My new stage play is coming along well. I've been working on it a week or so, averaging two pages a day.
I'm also informed by Fred Frees, who is narrating the audio version of MURDER IN BABYLON, that he's recorded the last four chapters of the book. He now has to edit them, so I'm hoping he'll send them to me sometime this coming week.
Being somewhat housebound because of the weather, I've been watching some older movies from my home library this past week. I've watched (and enjoyed) BATTLE CRY, CLOAK AND DAGGER (the one with Henry Thomas), EXTREME MEASURES, OLIVER! and NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN. If you haven't seen any of them, they all hold up quite well.
You have a creative week.
