What took you so long to get here?
Where have you been all my life?
I’ll tell you where I’ve been.

I’ve been in show business!

Ever since I was a little kid and heard Pinocchio singing, “Hey, diddly-dee, an actor’s life for me,” that’s what I wanted. Well, not to be an actor.
I got tired of that during my freshman year in college.

So, what to do, what to do. . .

After many years as a Hollywood press agent, I became a writer…movies, stage plays, books.
Anything that was a challenge.  I love telling stories.

After all, with due respect to actors, directors and other artists, isn’t the only truly creative aspect of the performing arts the written word?
Everything else is “interpretation”.

On this site you will find links to my many stage plays that are available for licensing, listings of my books that are available for purchasing, some of my screenplays that are available for optioning, plus my blog that will keep you apprised of my various on-going activities and we can get to know each other, maybe too well.

If you’re into DVDs, take a look at my monthly newsletter, BEST BETS ON DVD.

Also, if you have a story that you want told, either in screenplay or book form, I am still a writer-for-hire.  Have Mac-Will Write.

So, please sign the guest book and share your thoughts and comments on my blog.  But, let’s play nice!

Don’t be such a stranger.  Keep coming back!

Back & Forth

by Michael B. Druxman on 08/15/15

August 17, 2015

Back & forth, back & forth...

That's what I did all last week and will be again doing this week.  I was walking back & forth in a swimming pool for a half hour every day.  That's the therapy for my recent foot surgery.

I am able to walk a few feet now without my walker and, hopefully, within another week or two, I can graduate to a cane.

This week, after I watch it, I will be posting a review on the Best Bets on DVD site for BOULEVARD, Robin Williams' final movie.  You can access my take on the film in the usual way, via the link the Introduction section of this page.

I wish there was more to report, but there isn't, so you have a creative week.

(One of these days, I will feel creative again.)

Therapy Begins

by Michael B. Druxman on 08/08/15

August 10, 2015

I began my water therapy this past Thursday.  They put me in a pool and I walk back and forth for a half hour.

Starting today, I will be doing it every day/five days per week.

I have to be careful not to push it.  I did some exercises the other day, and the next morning my foot hurt like Hell.  So, easy does it.

I just hate being so dependent on other people for basic stuff.

I'm just hoping that when I see my doctor again in 4 1/2 weeks, I can rid myself of the Frankenstein boot I'm wearing and get back to a fairly normal life...even if I have to use a cane for awhile.

No much else to report, so you have a creative week.

I'm a "Walker"!

by Michael B. Druxman on 08/01/15

August 3, 2015

Don't let the title of this week's blog scare you.  I'm not that kind of "walker" (i.e. a zombie), though there are times in the day that I feel that way.

I went to the doctor this past week.  He removed the staples and the cast, and now I am able to move around on my own using a walker.  It's not easy, but it does give me a bit more independence.  I'm supposed to start water therapy this week, and (hopefully) within the next several weeks, I will graduate to a cane.

This past week, I posted a review of THE FRONT PAGE (1931) on the Best Bets on DVD site, accessible via the link in the Introduction section on this page.  Within the next few days, I plan to watch/review STRANGERLAND with Nicole Kidman and A LITTLE CHAOS with Kate Winslet, so check back later in the week.

MISS DINAH SHORE continues to sell well.  Please order your copy from Amazon.

You have a creative week.
