The Nightmare!

For various reasons related to business, for the past 30+ years, I have always had my mail and packages delivered to a PMB (personal mail box). When we moved to Austin, I rented a box at a place called Post Net on IH-35, a national franchise. That was over six years ago.
Last Monday (17). after I finished my physical therapy, wife Sandy and I went over to Post Net to pick up our mail, only to discover that the place was closed and out-of-business. All mail and packages had been returned to the post office or various carriers (e.g. UPS, Fed-Ex, etc.).
Rushing to repair the damage, we immediately found a UPS Store and rented a mail box. Then, we spent the better part of two days, causing me to miss a therapy session, contacting everybody and every business we could think of that sends us mail to the Post Net address. I'm talking both personal and business mail, including utility bills, bank statements and the like. In some cases where bills had already been sent (e.g. water bill, phone bill), we went to various locations to pay those bills in person.
This a**hole franchise owner knew two months in advance that he was going to close, yet he did not inform any customers of his intention. If he had, we could have had a much smoother transition.
I cannot express how angry both Sandy and I are at this s**t. We are especially angry because, after we rented the new mail box and informed everybody of the address change, we learned that there was another UPS Store much closer to our home. Had we had notice that the s**t was closing, we would have had time to discover that and rent at that more convenient location.
In any event, after I finish this blog entry, I will be writing my review of THE WALKING DEAD, Season Five, so in a day or two you can go to the Best Bets on DVD site to read it. It's accessible via the link on the Introduction section of this page.
Finally, I believe that I have contacted everybody that sends me snail mail with regard to my new address. However, if I've missed you and you want to send me something, please send me an e-mail and I will get you the new address.
You have a creative week.
