What took you so long to get here?
Where have you been all my life?
I’ll tell you where I’ve been.

I’ve been in show business!

Ever since I was a little kid and heard Pinocchio singing, “Hey, diddly-dee, an actor’s life for me,” that’s what I wanted. Well, not to be an actor.
I got tired of that during my freshman year in college.

So, what to do, what to do. . .

After many years as a Hollywood press agent, I became a writer…movies, stage plays, books.
Anything that was a challenge.  I love telling stories.

After all, with due respect to actors, directors and other artists, isn’t the only truly creative aspect of the performing arts the written word?
Everything else is “interpretation”.

On this site you will find links to my many stage plays that are available for licensing, listings of my books that are available for purchasing, some of my screenplays that are available for optioning, plus my blog that will keep you apprised of my various on-going activities and we can get to know each other, maybe too well.

If you’re into DVDs, take a look at my monthly newsletter, BEST BETS ON DVD.

Also, if you have a story that you want told, either in screenplay or book form, I am still a writer-for-hire.  Have Mac-Will Write.

So, please sign the guest book and share your thoughts and comments on my blog.  But, let’s play nice!

Don’t be such a stranger.  Keep coming back!

Still Waiting...

by Michael B. Druxman on 02/12/12

February 13, 2012

I am still waiting for that screenplay contract and check to arrive, but I spoke to the person on Friday and I've been assured that I will have both in hand by the end of this coming week.

My fingers are still crossed.

In the meantime, I've been reading a fascinating biography of actor Robert Mitchum, one of my all-time favorite stars.

I never met the man, but I did see him on a set once and, when I was doing press for his son (Christopher), we spoke briefly on the phone.  According to this bio and what I know about him, he was a fascinating individual, very self-destructive, but a superb actor.

If I can figure out an angle, he could a good subject for a one-person play.

I've posted a new trailer on YouTube and elsewhere to promote all four of my recently published screenplays, SARAH GOLDEN HAIR, MATRICIDE, UNCLE LOUIE and GHOUL CITY.  If the link doesn't work, just copy this address into your browser and you'll be taken right there.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, and I have a very special video valentine coming to dear wife Sandy.

On Wednesday, I'm supposed to do an interview to promo many of my books, then the next week, I am going to turn 71.

I don't feel 71!

You have a creative week.

Michael
