What took you so long to get here?
Where have you been all my life?
I’ll tell you where I’ve been.

I’ve been in show business!

Ever since I was a little kid and heard Pinocchio singing, “Hey, diddly-dee, an actor’s life for me,” that’s what I wanted. Well, not to be an actor.
I got tired of that during my freshman year in college.

So, what to do, what to do. . .

After many years as a Hollywood press agent, I became a writer…movies, stage plays, books.
Anything that was a challenge.  I love telling stories.

After all, with due respect to actors, directors and other artists, isn’t the only truly creative aspect of the performing arts the written word?
Everything else is “interpretation”.

On this site you will find links to my many stage plays that are available for licensing, listings of my books that are available for purchasing, some of my screenplays that are available for optioning, plus my blog that will keep you apprised of my various on-going activities and we can get to know each other, maybe too well.

If you’re into DVDs, take a look at my monthly newsletter, BEST BETS ON DVD.

Also, if you have a story that you want told, either in screenplay or book form, I am still a writer-for-hire.  Have Mac-Will Write.

So, please sign the guest book and share your thoughts and comments on my blog.  But, let’s play nice!

Don’t be such a stranger.  Keep coming back!

Netflix, Kickstarter and Colonial

by Michael B. Druxman on 05/12/13

May 13, 2013

For those of you who have been waiting to hear the result, the Netflix thing seems to be working out.  I guess that the first two discs they sent me that wouldn't play were just a fluke.  Since then. I've played five of their DVDs without problems.

Frankly, I don't think that I will stay with this service every month, because there are not that many movies out or coming out that interest me, but I could use Netflix off-and-on.

I'm still working on the idea of turning my short story, THE OLD COOT, into a movie; trying to get funding via Kickstarter.  I had a meeting with a production manager on Friday and we're going to continue to investigate if this project is viable.  Stay tuned.

I was also working this past week with the people at Colonial Radio Theatre, who will be recording my play, HAIL ON THE CHIEF, as an audio dramatization.   I am now told that we will probably record in July.

Finally, I have posted a review of BARRYMORE with Christopher Plummer on the Best Bets on DVD site, accessible via the the link in the Introduction section of this page, so take a look.  Plummer is terrific.

You have a creative week.

Michael
