What took you so long to get here?
Where have you been all my life?
I’ll tell you where I’ve been.

I’ve been in show business!

Ever since I was a little kid and heard Pinocchio singing, “Hey, diddly-dee, an actor’s life for me,” that’s what I wanted. Well, not to be an actor.
I got tired of that during my freshman year in college.

So, what to do, what to do. . .

After many years as a Hollywood press agent, I became a writer…movies, stage plays, books.
Anything that was a challenge.  I love telling stories.

After all, with due respect to actors, directors and other artists, isn’t the only truly creative aspect of the performing arts the written word?
Everything else is “interpretation”.

On this site you will find links to my many stage plays that are available for licensing, listings of my books that are available for purchasing, some of my screenplays that are available for optioning, plus my blog that will keep you apprised of my various on-going activities and we can get to know each other, maybe too well.

If you’re into DVDs, take a look at my monthly newsletter, BEST BETS ON DVD.

Also, if you have a story that you want told, either in screenplay or book form, I am still a writer-for-hire.  Have Mac-Will Write.

So, please sign the guest book and share your thoughts and comments on my blog.  But, let’s play nice!

Don’t be such a stranger.  Keep coming back!

I'm on a Cane

by Michael B. Druxman on 09/12/15

September 14, 2015

The doctor took me out of the boot last week.  I'm carrying a cane, though most of the time I can pretty much move around without it.  I use it mostly for security, should there be a problem with my foot.

I still don't feel much like writing; starting any new projects.  I review movies for the Best Bets on DVD site when I' sent them, but that's about it.  Incidentally, there are new reviews of two Robert Mitchum Westerns on the site now, YOUNG BILLY YOUNG and THE WONDERFUL COUNTRY.  Later this week, I'll be watching/reviewing a Rex Harrison film, THE HONEY POT, so keep an eye out for that one, too.  You can access the Best Bets on DVD site by clicking on the link in the Introduction section of this page.

I'm also in the process of preparing my last 3 plays, B MOVIE, SEXY REXY and LANA & JOHNNY WERE LOVERS, as an anthology, THE HOLLYWOOD SCANDALS.  No real new writing involved; just formatting.  I hope to have the book available for holiday giving.

A few doctor appointments this week, but beyond that, there's not much on the schedule.  Now, I'm off to the gym.  I have to walk in the pool for a half hour: foot therapy.

You have a creative week.

Michael.
