What took you so long to get here?
Where have you been all my life?
I’ll tell you where I’ve been.

I’ve been in show business!

Ever since I was a little kid and heard Pinocchio singing, “Hey, diddly-dee, an actor’s life for me,” that’s what I wanted. Well, not to be an actor.
I got tired of that during my freshman year in college.

So, what to do, what to do. . .

After many years as a Hollywood press agent, I became a writer…movies, stage plays, books.
Anything that was a challenge.  I love telling stories.

After all, with due respect to actors, directors and other artists, isn’t the only truly creative aspect of the performing arts the written word?
Everything else is “interpretation”.

On this site you will find links to my many stage plays that are available for licensing, listings of my books that are available for purchasing, some of my screenplays that are available for optioning, plus my blog that will keep you apprised of my various on-going activities and we can get to know each other, maybe too well.

If you’re into DVDs, take a look at my monthly newsletter, BEST BETS ON DVD.

Also, if you have a story that you want told, either in screenplay or book form, I am still a writer-for-hire.  Have Mac-Will Write.

So, please sign the guest book and share your thoughts and comments on my blog.  But, let’s play nice!

Don’t be such a stranger.  Keep coming back!

Happy New Year!

by Michael B. Druxman on 12/31/11

January 2, 2012

Happy New Year, everybody.

I hope that 2012 will be prosperous and healthy for all of us.

First, you should be aware that I've posted two new reviews on the Best Bets on DVD site, accessible via the link on the Introduction section of this page.  They are HIGHER GROUND and SINNERS AND SAINTS, so please take a look.

And, I'll probably be posting a couple more later in the week.

Now, for an earth-shaking announcement:

After much consideration, I've decided that I am only going to write this blog on a weekly basis.  I really don't have enough material or activity to write an interesting blog every day, so barring some tremendous mid-week event, I will be posting a new column every Monday from now on, summarizing the previous week.

However, in case that "tremendous mid-week event" does occur, you might check back every couple of days or so.

Absence, as they say, makes the heart grow fonder.

I had a rather uneventful Christmas holiday.  I watched a few movies, and I've now started editing the proofs for the four screenplays I will be publishing soon, SARAH GOLDEN HAIR, MATRICIDE, UNCLE LOUIE and GHOUL CITY.

My new project after that will be to publish in one volume the 2 version I wrote of the CHEYENNE WARRIOR sequel.

Yesterday was wife Sandy;s birthday, so today I will be taking her out to dinner and, in all probability, a movie.

Now, here's a tardy Christmas joke for you:

A married couple had been out shopping at the mall for most of the afternoon, suddenly, the wife realized that her husband had "disappeared".

The somewhat irate spouse called her mate’s cell phone and demanded: "Where the hell are you?"

Husband: "Darling, you remember that Jewelery shop where you saw the diamond necklace and totally fell in love with it and I didn't have money at the time and said 'Baby, it'll be yours some day'."

Wife, with a smile blushing: "Yes, I remember that, my love."

Husband: "Well, I'm in the Bar next to that shop."

You have a creative week.

Michael
