I'm in a bit of a rush today, so I'll be brief.

RATHBONE, my new one-person play, has been selling quite well during its first week.  Readers seem to like it.

Within the next day or two, I will be uploading a review of THE MASTER starrin Philip Seymour Hoffman onto the Best Bets on DVD site, accessible via the link in the Introduction section of this page.  It's an intriguing, Oscar-nominated movie, so please take a look.

Now, here's a joke I was sent:

A U. S. Navy destroyer stops four Mexicans in a row boat rowing towards California .

The Captain gets on the loud-hailer and shouts, "Ahoy, small craft. Where are you headed?"

One of the Mexicans puts down his oar, stands up, and shouts, "We are invading the United States of America to reclaim the territory taken by the USA during the 1800's." The entire crew of the destroyer doubled-over in laughter.

When the Captain is finally able to catch his breath, he gets back on the loud-hailer and asks, "Just the four of you?"

The same Mexican stands up again and shouts, "No, we're the last four. The rest are already there!"

RATHBONE is finished.  I am now awaiting a proof copy, which should arrive within a week.  Once I approve that, the play, in both paperback and Kindle editions, will be available within a very few days.

I have no idea what I am going to write next.

Healthwise, this past week has not been good for me. 

My left leg and back had been bothering me for several days and, in fact, I'd been using a cane.  I had an X-ray and a MRI on Tuesday, and on Thursday, the doctor informed me that I had a couple of herniated/bulging discs in my back.  He gave me four injections (not fun) in the lower spine and, although I'm feeling much better and not using the cane, I do feel somewhat unsteady on that left leg.  I am hoping that I will not need surgery in the future.

Chester, our new dog, had a busy week.  On Friday, we had him chipped, and on Saturday, he had his first day at obedience school.  He did very well.

He is a good dog.  I feel lucky to have him in my life.
