Michael's Musings
Ordinary Week

This past week has been rather ordinary.
On last Monday night, wife Sandy and I went to the temple for a Passover seder, which was nice. I had my teeth cleaned on Thursday and, on Friday, a guy came to our house to sever the root of one of our 5-year old oak trees. It seems that that particular root was intruding into our neighbor's yard and starting to undermine the slab of his house. (We were assured that the tree will survive.)
The audio version of HAIL ON THE CHIEF! is selling well on iTunes and elsewhere. I hope you get a chance to listen to it.
I continue to research my next play, and everything that I read about the subject convinces me that this will be a winner. There's some terrific material here.
I also got a query about my Clara Bow play. A theatre group may want to stage it, so we'll see how that develops. (Interestingly, I sell more copies of CLARA BOW than any other play in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS collection.)
BTW: If you haven't heard it, Nancy McLemore does a sensational job as Clara in the audio version of the play, available on iTunes and elsewhere.
You have a creative week.

Listen to HAIL ON THE CHIEF!
by Michael B. Druxman on 04/12/14
April 14, 2014
HAIL ON THE CHIEF!, my 3-act non-political, political stage comedy, is now available as an audio download. It was produced by the Colonial Radio Theatre on the Air.
This is my play about Oliver Pettridge, the guy who hates his next door neighbor, and this neighbor has just been elected President of the United States.
The play has gone through many versions, including a musical one, but I think it works best as a straight play.
Below, I've posted the links to the trailer for the audio download and the Amazon address where you can get it (It's also available through audible.com and iTunes). As usual, if the links don't work, I've also included the web addresses themselves, which you can copy into your browser and be taken right there.
HAIL ON THE CHIEF! is a fun show, and I hope you will take the opportunity to hear it. The cast is very good.

Finally, I've posted several new DVD/Blu-Ray reviews onto the Best Bets on DVD site, accessible via the link in the Introduction section of this page. They include: THE INVISIBLE WOMAN, CRY DANGER, STRANGER ON THE PROWL, MEN IN WAR, SLEEP, MY LOVE and RIOT IN CELL BLOCK 11, so please take a look.
You have a creative week.

New DVD Reviews
by Michael B. Druxman on 04/05/14

I have bunch of new reviews posted on the Best Bets on DVD site, accessible via the link in the Introduction section of this page. They include LIZZIE BORDEN TOOK AN AX, two documentaries, WHEN JEWS WERE FUNNY and THE MICHAEL MORTON STORY, and a pair of Barbara Payton movies, BAD BLONDE and THE GREAT JESSE JAMES RAID.
Ms. Payton, of course, is one of the principal characters in my new stage play, B MOVIE.
Also, within the next couple of days, I will be posting a review for the Oscar-nominated (Best Costume Design) film, THE INVISIBLE WOMAN. So, take a look.
The audio adaptation of HAIL ON THE CHIEF should be available shortly. There was a slight technical problem with one of the uploaded files, but that (I believe) has now been corrected.
I am supposed to do a couple of radio interviews this week and, beyond that, I continue to research my next play.
That's it! You have a creative week.
