I'm Back!

I had a great time in Chicago. Sold a lot of books at the HCS and met some nice people.
We sat right next to Ruth Buzzi, who is a hoot. I also spent time with 3 "Bond girls," Britt Ekland, Maud Adams and Lana Wood, as well as Taina Elg (LES GIRLS), actress Shirley Knight (AS GOOD AS IT GETS), actor Robert Dix (Richard's son, whose credits include FORBIDDEN PLANET) and actor Michael Gross (TREMORS).
On Friday, before we we went to the hotel, our driver gave us a brief tour of the city and he took us to what was once the Biograph Theater. That's where John Dillinger got his.
The name of the theater has been changed and its been completely remodeled, but they do have a poster from MANHATTAN MELODRAMA hanging in the lobby. That's the movie Dillinger saw before he was shot.
I did have Sandy snap a photo of me in the alley next to the theater where the shooting actually took place.
I've uploaded some of these pictures to my Facebook page, so go over and take a look.
I have a doctor appointment tomorrow, then the rest of the week is free.
You have a creative day.

Off to Chicago

I'm off to Chicago. Should land around 10:30 this morning.
I'm going to have a 2-3 hour tour of the city, then head for the hotel.
I'm not sure what kind of Internet service I'm going to have while I'm there, so rather than worry about it, let's just figure that I won't be posting another blog until Tuesday (28).
In that one, I'll tell you all about the weekend.
And if you're in/around the Windy City this weekend, stop by the Hilton/Rosemont Hotel tomorrow or Sunday and say "Hello".
You have a creative one.

Packing Day

I have a radio interview this morning, then I take the animals to the boarding kennel, and then I do my packing for the flight to Chicago tomorrow morning at 8 am.
It's supposed to be stormy in the Windy City on Friday, which is a bit of a bummer. That's the day that I want to see a few sights, like the Biograph Theater (where John Dillinger got his), Wrigley Field and Lake Michigan.
The rest of the time there we're probably going to be in the hotel and at the HCS, so weather won't be so much of an issue.
BTW: Do you want to know why the USPS is going broke. E-mail is part of the problem, but the real problem is their lousy service. Yesterday, I received the remnants of my phone bill, which I'd mailed a few days ago. The post office's machinery had eaten it up...and there was no sign of my check.
My bank was nice enough to place a stop payment on the check without charging me, so that was nice. But, it was still a major inconvenience.
End of rant. You have a creative day.
