What took you so long to get here?
Where have you been all my life?
I’ll tell you where I’ve been.

I’ve been in show business!

Ever since I was a little kid and heard Pinocchio singing, “Hey, diddly-dee, an actor’s life for me,” that’s what I wanted. Well, not to be an actor.
I got tired of that during my freshman year in college.

So, what to do, what to do. . .

After many years as a Hollywood press agent, I became a writer…movies, stage plays, books.
Anything that was a challenge.  I love telling stories.

After all, with due respect to actors, directors and other artists, isn’t the only truly creative aspect of the performing arts the written word?
Everything else is “interpretation”.

On this site you will find links to my many stage plays that are available for licensing, listings of my books that are available for purchasing, some of my screenplays that are available for optioning, plus my blog that will keep you apprised of my various on-going activities and we can get to know each other, maybe too well.

If you’re into DVDs, take a look at my monthly newsletter, BEST BETS ON DVD.

Also, if you have a story that you want told, either in screenplay or book form, I am still a writer-for-hire.  Have Mac-Will Write.

So, please sign the guest book and share your thoughts and comments on my blog.  But, let’s play nice!

Don’t be such a stranger.  Keep coming back!

It's October!

by Michael B. Druxman on 09/30/10

October 1, 2010

Here it is October already.  This year is really going fast, isn't it?

I've got a quiet weekend ahead and, as of now, next week is pretty quiet, too.  But, on the 12th, I head for Los Angeles.  Already there are a couple of publicity gigs planned, then I'll be doing my book signing on Sunday, October 17th at 2 pm at the Mystery and Imagination Bookshop on Brand Blvd. in Glendale.

Now, here's something to (hopefully) make you smile going into the weekend:

Three friends from the local congregation were asked, "When you're in your
casket, and friends and congregation members are mourning over you, what
would you like them to say?"

Artie said: "I would like them to say I was a wonderful husband, a fine
spiritual leader, and a great family man."

Eugene commented: "I would like them to say I was a wonderful teacher and servant of God who made a huge difference in people's lives."

Al said: "I'd like them to say, 'Look, he's moving!'."

You have a creative weekend, and I'll be back with you on Monday.

Waiting For Biopsy Results

by Michael B. Druxman on 09/29/10

September 30, 2010

Yesterday, I went to my dermatologist about a small growth on my scalp.  She shaved it off, cauterized it and has sent it out for biopsy.  Chances are it's nothing, but even if it is cancerous, the issue can be easily rectified.

I'll know within a week.

Currently, I'm working on a writing deal that looks like it is going to be a Go.  In fact, I already have a nice check in my possession to seal the deal, but there was a minor error in the contact that accompanied it, so I've said I will not to cash the check until the agreement is actually signed.  I should have the corrected contract in hand within a week.  Then, I will tell you what this is all about.  But, it is a goodie.

Now, here's a thought for today:

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

You have a creative one.

I Am Soooo Tired!

by Michael B. Druxman on 09/28/10

September 28, 2010

I cannot tell you how tired I feel.  That trip to Chicago really drained it out of me.

So, to keep things simple today, I'm just going to post the link for a radio interview I did a couple of weeks ago with Bill Frank of KKZZ in Ventura, CA.

You can get to the recording by clicking HERE.

You have a creative day.
