A LAW & ORDER Rant!

LAW & ORDER was my favorite television series of all time. Nine of its twenty seasons have already been released onto DVD...and I own all of them. I had even pre-ordered two more seasons that had been announced on Amazon.
However, now I am pissed!
Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced that they are now releasing onto DVD LAW & ORDER, The Complete Series, a 104 disc set.
In other words, for those of us loyal fans of the series who already own those previously released nine seasons, in order to get the remaining eleven seasons, we are going to have to purchase those nine seasons all over again.
The current price on Amazon is a little under $500.00.
As far as I'm concerned, this is a f.u. to the fans of this series.
If the seasons were released individually, I'm sure the fans would buy them, but this move by Universal is just plain greed.
For my part, I'll pass on this set and keep watching the episodes on cable TV.
In fact, I'm willing to bet that a year or so from now, people will be able to pick this set up for $100-$200, so save your money and be patient.
And, have a creative day.

MR. ROBERTS

It is so hot here in Austin that one can hardly think. There is a chance of some rain here at the end of the week, so fingers are crossed.
My Temple is doing a benefit for Jewish War Veterans in late November, and I've agreed to direct a couple of short scenes from MR. ROBERTS for it. It's one of my all time favorite comedies.
I'll definitely do the scene where The Captain first encounters Ensign Pulver. I think it's the funniest scene in the play. Not quite sure what the other scene will be yet.
I was supposed to do a radio interview yesterday to promote the new book, DRACULA MEETS JACK THE RIPPER & Other Revisionist Histories, but the guy called at the last minute and postponed it until Friday morning...which is fine.
Not much else happening as we head into the Labor Day weekend.
You have a creative day.

From a Teacher -- short and to the point!
In the world of hi-tech gadgetry, I've noticed that more and more people who send text messages and emails have long forgotten the art of capitalization.
For those of you who fall into this category, please take note of the following statement:
"Capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse."
Is everybody clear on that?
You have a creative day.
