A Very Special Deal

Last week, the Warner Archive had a Columbus Day Sale in which you could buy 5 selected titles for $50.00. Since WA titles usually sell for $17-$18, this is always a good deal for classic film buffs like myself.
After I got the notice of the sale, I went to the WA site and started making selections. What surprised me was that, as well as the usual single disc DVD titles being offered, there were several multiple disc box sets that usually sell for $30-$50. Naturally, I made my selections from that group, then I checked out and charged my 5 selections to my credit card.
Then, I went back to see it there was anything that I missed and, suddenly, the WA site was no longer available. Apparently, somebody had screwed up and had included these multiple disc sets in the sale when they should not have.
I got in just under the wire and a few days ago, I received my box of discs that included THE JEAN HARLOW COLLECTION (7 movies), Seasons 2 and 3 of CHEYENNE and Season 4 of MAVERICK. I also got single discs of A LIFE IN THE THEATRE and, purchased separately, SUMMER OF '42.
I must take my hat off (if I wore a hat) to WA for honoring their error.
Speaking of DVDs, there's new review of SNOWPIERCER on the Best Bets on DVD site, accessible via the link in the Introduction section of this page.
You have a creative week.
