95th Anniversary

Yesterday, February 1st, I was a guest on Gregg Hunter's radio show which aired at 9pm (PT) over CRN Talk.com. Michael Sinclair did the actual interview in which we discussed my new novel (based on fact), MURDER IN BABYLON, which deals with the William Desmond Taylor case, Hollywood's most infamous "officially" unsolved murder. Interestingly, February 1st was the 95th anniversary of Taylor's murder.
The last time I hit a date like that was with my one-woman play, LOMBARD, which debuted in Burbank on the 50th anniversary of Carole Lombard's death in a plane crash.
Do you rent DVDs or Blu-ray discs from Netflix?
I sign up for the service every few months, but this past month has been a problem. It used to be that Netflix would send out your next disc on Monday and you'd get it Tuesday. During January, the discs would go out on Monday, but I wouldn't get it until Wednesday, which resulted in my getting 1/3 less movies each month. At the end of the month, the situation got worse. It's now taking 2 days (instead of one) to return a disc. That means even fewer discs one will get for their monthly fee.
So, I've just signed up for RedBox. Truthfully, there are not that many new films that I really care to see, so I figure I'll spend less each month if I just pay for the ones that truly interest me. Also, it appears that RedBox gets the newest movies a few weeks before Netflix. In any event, we shall see what happens.
Speaking of movies, there's a new review of IN YOUR EYES on the Best Bets on DVD site, accessible via the link in the Introduction section of this page, so please take a look.
You have a creative week.
