Michael's Musings
Relaxing Weekend
by Michael B. Druxman on 10/21/10

I'm planning to take it easy this weekend, probably watch some movies that I need to review. Currently, I'm about halfway through THE PACIFIC, the Emmy-winning HBO mini-series. I'll be uploading my review for it sometime next week.
Monday afternoon, wife Sandy gets back from Los Angeles and life will return to normal.
Now, here's something that (hopefully) will make you laugh:
The Queen's Riddle
Barack Obama met with the Queen of England. He asked her, "Your Majesty, how do you run such an efficient government? Are there any tips you can give to me?"
"Well," said the Queen, "the most important thing is to surround yourself with intelligent people."
Obama frowned, and then asked, "But how do I know the people around me are really intelligent?"
The Queen took a sip of tea. "Oh, that's easy; you just ask them to answer an intelligent riddle." The Queen pushed a button on her intercom. "Please send Tony Blair in here, would you?"
Tony Blair walked into the room and said, "Yes, my Queen?"
The Queen smiled and said, "Answer me this please, Tony: Your mother and father have a child. It is not your brother and it is not your sister. Who is it?"
Without pausing for a moment, Tony Blair answered, "That would be me."
"Yes! Very good," said the Queen.
Obama went back home to ask Joe Biden, his vice presidential choice, the same question.
"Joe, answer this for me. Your mother and your father have a child. It's not your brother and it's not your sister. Who is it?"
"I'm not sure," said Biden. "Let me get back to you on that one." He went to his advisers and asked every one, but none could give him an answer.
Finally, he ended up in the men's room and recognized Colin Powell's shoes in the next stall.
Biden asked Powell, "Colin, can you answer this for me? Your mother and father have a child and it's not your brother or your sister. Who is it?"
Colin Powell yelled back, "That's easy, it's me!"
Biden smiled, and said, "Thanks!" Then, he went back to speak with Obama.
"Say, I did some research and I have the answer to that riddle. It's Colin Powell!"
Obama got up, stomped over to Biden, and angrily yelled into his face, "No! You idiot! It's Tony Blair!"
You have a creative weekend and I'll be back on Monday.

Back At Work
by Michael B. Druxman on 10/20/10
October 21, 2010
Yesterday was the first day since I got home on Monday that I felt rested enough to do some work.
I put down on "paper" a general story outline for the screenplay that I've been hired to write, then sent it off to the "producer" for his in-put, which I await. Assuming that he likes it, I'll probably start on the screenplay itself within the next few days.
Tonight, I'm doing a radio interview, then I have another one to do on Sunday.
On Monday, wife Sandy gets home, so that will be very nice.
Now, here's a joke I was sent. I'm not sure, but I may have run this before, but it's still funny.
A Jewish couple in London won twenty-million pounds in the lottery.
They bought a magnificent mansion in Knightsbridge and surrounded
themselves with all the material wealth imaginable.
They decided to hire a butler. They found the perfect butler through an
agency, very proper and very British, and brought him back to their home.
The day after his arrival, he was instructed to set up the dining
table for four, as they were inviting the Cohens to lunch. The couple then left the house to do some shopping.
When they returned, they found the table set for six.
Perplexed, they asked the butler why it was set for six when they had
expressly asked him to set it for four.
The butler replied: "The Cohens telephoned and said they were bringing the Blintzes."
You have a creative day.

Joke of the Year

I'm still pretty tired from my Los Angeles trip, so rather than some mindless chatter, here is the Joke of the Year:
Two Jewish women were sitting quietly together, minding their own
business.
You have a creative day.
