What took you so long to get here?
Where have you been all my life?
I’ll tell you where I’ve been.

I’ve been in show business!

Ever since I was a little kid and heard Pinocchio singing, “Hey, diddly-dee, an actor’s life for me,” that’s what I wanted. Well, not to be an actor.
I got tired of that during my freshman year in college.

So, what to do, what to do. . .

After many years as a Hollywood press agent, I became a writer…movies, stage plays, books.
Anything that was a challenge.  I love telling stories.

After all, with due respect to actors, directors and other artists, isn’t the only truly creative aspect of the performing arts the written word?
Everything else is “interpretation”.

On this site you will find links to my many stage plays that are available for licensing, listings of my books that are available for purchasing, some of my screenplays that are available for optioning, plus my blog that will keep you apprised of my various on-going activities and we can get to know each other, maybe too well.

If you’re into DVDs, take a look at my monthly newsletter, BEST BETS ON DVD.

Also, if you have a story that you want told, either in screenplay or book form, I am still a writer-for-hire.  Have Mac-Will Write.

So, please sign the guest book and share your thoughts and comments on my blog.  But, let’s play nice!

Don’t be such a stranger.  Keep coming back!

Taking It Easy!

by Michael B. Druxman on 05/09/11

May 10, 2011

All my one-person plays are now available at Amazon, and on Sunday, I finished my work on the edited manuscript of DRACULA MEETS JACK THE RIPPER And Other Revisionist Histories and sent it off to the publisher, so now I'm sort of taking it easy.

I know what my next 2 book projects are going to be and I already have a publisher for both, but I'm not in a great hurry to start work on either one.  Actually, both of those books are already written, and the only new writing I have to do for each is an Introduction.

But, they can wait a couple of weeks or more.

In the meantime, I've put a review for THE BIG BANG on the Best Bets on DVD site, accessible via the link in the Introduction section of this page.  So, take a look.

You have a creative day.

The Woman Marine Pilot

by Michael B. Druxman on 05/08/11

May 9, 2011

The teacher  gave her fifth grade class an assignment: Get their parents to tell them a  story with a moral at the end of it.  The next day, the kids came back and, one by one, began to tell their stories.

There were all the  regular types of stuff: spilled milk and pennies saved.  But then the  teacher realized, much to her dismay, that only Janie was left.

"Janie, do you have a story to share?"

''Yes ma'am.  My daddy told me a story about my Mommy.  She was a Marine pilot in Desert Storm, and her plane got hit.  She had to bail out over enemy territory,  and all she had was a flask of whiskey, a pistol, and a survival knife.

"She drank the whiskey on the way down so the bottle wouldn't break, and then her parachute landed her right in the middle of 20 Iraqi  troops.  She shot 15 of them with the pistol, until she ran out of bullets, killed four more with the knife, till the blade broke, and then she killed the last Iraqi with her bare hands.
"

''Good Heavens," said the horrified teacher. "What did your Daddy tell you was the moral to this  horrible story?"

"Don't f**k with Mommy when she's been  drinking."

You have a creative day.
