What took you so long to get here?
Where have you been all my life?
I’ll tell you where I’ve been.

I’ve been in show business!

Ever since I was a little kid and heard Pinocchio singing, “Hey, diddly-dee, an actor’s life for me,” that’s what I wanted. Well, not to be an actor.
I got tired of that during my freshman year in college.

So, what to do, what to do. . .

After many years as a Hollywood press agent, I became a writer…movies, stage plays, books.
Anything that was a challenge.  I love telling stories.

After all, with due respect to actors, directors and other artists, isn’t the only truly creative aspect of the performing arts the written word?
Everything else is “interpretation”.

On this site you will find links to my many stage plays that are available for licensing, listings of my books that are available for purchasing, some of my screenplays that are available for optioning, plus my blog that will keep you apprised of my various on-going activities and we can get to know each other, maybe too well.

If you’re into DVDs, take a look at my monthly newsletter, BEST BETS ON DVD.

Also, if you have a story that you want told, either in screenplay or book form, I am still a writer-for-hire.  Have Mac-Will Write.

So, please sign the guest book and share your thoughts and comments on my blog.  But, let’s play nice!

Don’t be such a stranger.  Keep coming back!

BAN THESE PEOPLE!

by Michael B. Druxman on 06/21/11

June 22, 2011

Yesterday, I posted the following on my Facebook page:

"I am getting sick and tired of these people who want to BAN everything. BAN PLASTIC BAGS! BAN INCANDESCENT LIGHT BULBS! BAN CIRCUMCISION! Why don't you people go BAN YOURSELVES and leave the rest of us alone?"

What is the matter with these people who are always trying to pass laws that affect other people's lives?

Don't they know that their rights stop at nose tip of everybody?

Why should they care if your kid is circumcised or not?

Or, if I want to use an incandescent light bulb in MY house?

Somebody suggested that tobacco should be banned.

Why?

Adults know the risks of smoking.  If they're stupid enough to keep on doing it, that's their choice.

Fireworks, on the other hand, are a different matter.

Here in Texas, we are experiencing a terrible drought.  Fireworks have been outlawed to prevent the possibility of starting brush fires...which can spread.
Like drinking with driving, that presents a clear and present danger to the public safety, so there should be laws.

But, banning plastic bags and light bulbs?

Please....

End of rant.  You have a creative day.

A Great Review!

by Michael B. Druxman on 06/20/11

June 21, 2011

I received a marvelous review for MY FORTY-FIVE YEARS IN HOLLYWOOD ...AN HOW I ESCAPED ALIVE from Henry's Western Round-Up blog, and next week Henry Parke is not only publishing an interview he did with me, but he's also going to be reviewing my film, CHEYENNE WARRIOR, which he calls the "best tiny budget western he's ever seen".

If you'd like to read the review, click HERE.  If that doesn't work, just copy the following address into your browser and you'll be taken to Henry's blog.

The talk at the Austin Library went quite well on Saturday.  The people there, mostly writers, seemed to enjoy it.

BTW: There are new reviews of both MIRANDA and KISS ME DEADLY on the Best Bets on DVD site, which you can access via the link in the Introduction section of this page.

You have a creative day, and I'll be back tomorrow.

A Caring Husband

by Michael B. Druxman on 06/19/11

June 20, 2011

Paddy is sitting at home alone when he hears a knock on the  front door.

There are two sheriff's deputies there; Paddy asks if there is a problem.

One of the deputies asks if he is married, and if so, can he see a picture of his wife.

Paddy says "sure," and shows him a picture of his wife.

The sheriff says, "I'm sorry sir, but it looks like your wife's been hit by a truck."

Paddy says, "I know, but she has a great personality, is an excellent cook and lets me play golf whenever I want to!"

You have a creative day.
