Michael's Musings
Future Plans...

Last week, I read in Daily Variety that Alan Trustman, who wrote the scripts for BULLITT and THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR, among others, had self-published six of his original, unsold screenplays via CreateSpace, the same company that I published my one-person stage plays through.
My plays have been selling quite well via CreateSpace (owned by Amazon) and Kindle, and I have been pondering the idea of also publishing some of my unsold screenplays through them. The fact that Trustman is now doing this made up my mind.
I plan to separately publish 3 of my scripts late in the 1st quarter or early in the 2nd quarter of next year.
Trustman's stated goal is to attract a producer that will turn his script into a movie. I'm all for that, too, but my main purpose in doing this is to allow the reading public access to my stories, some of which, I think, represent my best work as a writer. And, if a movie happens, terrific!
So, I'm currently formatting screenplays on the CreateSpace template. I have a total of 6-8 scripts that I really like and, assuming the first three are well accepted, I'll probably go ahead and publish the rest.
Tentatively, the first 3 titles will be: SARAH GOLDEN HAIR, GHOUL CITY and UNCLE LOUIE, all different genres.
I will keep you informed as this project progresses.
In the meantime, the reprint of my BASIL RATHONE: His Life and His Films should be available within the next week or two, I hope.
You have a creative day.

A Desert Love Story
Once upon a time there was a very handsome male camel with two huge camel humps.
He fell in love and married a beautiful female camel who had one perfect camel hump.
As time progressed, they became the proud parents of a wonderful baby camel who had no humps.
They contemplated long and hard on what to call their beautiful little boy. They finally decided on....
You ready for this?
"Humphrey"!
Oh, stop your whining.
It's a nice story and better than a lot of the stories I share with you.
You have a creative weekend and I'll be back with you on Monday.

When My Doctor Asked....

When my doctor asked me about what I did yesterday, I told him about my day:
"Well, yesterday afternoon, I waded across the edge of a deep lake, barely escaped from a coyote in the heavy brush, marched along a treacherous trail up and down a mountain, stood in a patch of poison ivy, crawled out of quicksand, and narrowly avoided an aggressive rattlesnake by leaping away at the last second."
Inspired by my story, the doctor said, "You must be an awesome outdoorsman!"
"No, I'm just a shitty golfer."
You have a creative day.
